Mysteriously Sensual & Magnificently Weird Part l: Karl Lagerfeld

I always find an exquisitely mysterious and sensual trait is always attached to Karl Lagerfeld's photographs. He captures the very essence of femininity in the model; all the while making her mysterious, like she's hiding a world of secrets. Every time I see one of his photographs, I stare with my mouth open in awe of how one might be able to capture such beautiful moments. He has everything down to the perfect lighting, setting, and angle all to capture this exceptionally magical moment.

In the photographs above and thumbnails below, his effects make the models look like beautiful one-of-a-kind drawings; yet they are unique photographs.

In the very photographs below, Lagerfeld captures the very mystique that usually captures my eye. The smoke, the mysterious masculine figure in the background, everything is all so alluring and capturing.

I believe sometimes the angle can make perfection:

Lagerfeld's black and white is quite spectacular. I dream of only attempting to get good results when it comes to black and white. The lighting of everything is magnificent and Anja Rubik is beautiful. How he captures the highlights in one area yet perfect shading in another is a mystery to me. As many times when I attempt the black and white neither is equal. I guess practice makes perfect?

I am not quite sure what's going on with the photograph below, but it just looked fun: the colours, the patterns, the girls!

A Little Off Track

source:ru_glamour

As one may have noticed, I have not updated for some time this week; this is mostly due to my having quite a few papers to write, one including LaCouturier's "petite novella" Current/Elliot giveaway.

I have not, however, forgotten the blog. I am currently working on a post for this blog, a post that has been nagging in my head to be written down somewhere for quite sometime. I am going to be writing about fashion and photography: fashion photography: Two very big influences in my wanting to try fashion photography are Karl Lagerfeld and Juergen Teller. I always stare in awe when I look at their work. So, indeed, I have not forgotten; I am just a little preoccupied. No worries, however, as the contest ends on the first and my papers will also be done by then.

Sleeping Beauty

It's seems as I have been a sleeping beauty lately, I try to run to the library as often as possible but maybe that's why they call it life. I did finish reading The Age of Innocence and hope to the see the movie of the same title soon. The ending of the titled book was not at all what I expected and am now hoping that I can run to B&N and buy some Edith Wharton novels.

I don't have a lot of time, so instead of babbling, here are some of my favorite scans from the May issue of US Elle magazine. I am just completely and utterly smitten with them.

'Paris Match' Karl Lagerfeld photographing French actress Nora Arnezeder who I am "in love" with! More found here.

Midnight Dreaming

So I just got out the shower ooooooh about 20 mins ago. Whoops! Haha.

My intent of coming downstairs was to have a glass of water or orange juice and go back up; well, someone messaged me on FB and so so, that's not the point. The point is, I somehow ended up at style.com and then ended up viewing the Chanel Fall 2006 Couture Collection and oh did I fall in love all over with Chanel!

Some of my picks from

This first caught my eye, and I think next time I go out whether for errands or somewhere "important", I am going to try my best to achieve this look.

But this one has got to be my favorite look! So far, it is, after all, only the 4th look out of 60.

I just really love the red and the jean together.

I really loved those classic Chanel looks with the jean.

Aaaaand the genius behind it all!

I pretty much loved the whole collection, but I guess I couldn't have posted all of the 60 photographs.
No wunder Chanel is my favorite brand in the world! There's this simplistic thing going on with the modern day woman, what's not to love? I do dream of the day that I can buy all the Chanel clothing I want. Hehe
