It's A Yorkie!

So I know I haven't posted in forever, but I wanted to give a heads up on life.

My life that is.

So Update on doggy situation. We are getting a Yorkshire Terrier!!!

Eeeeeeeps of joy for me!!

The story- Not this past weekend, but I believe the weekend before that, we decided to stroll through __________ town square. Just to say, it's a rather cute little place. Bigger than our previous town. And anyhow, after buying some yummy pretzels at one of the cute shops, or it was more of a tiny, little, itty, bitty mall, hehe, we were walking down one of the streets.

-And remember, this is an old town square, so they had those old time-y window things.-

So, we were walking and snacking, and out of one of those windows, three cute little Yorkies were yapping at us. So we looked, and stared, and awwwed, and decided to go ahead and walk. Then I asked mum if it might be alright for us to go in and ask where the lady got them from. And oh! where they just adorable. We were able to play and I had my camera and some film, so I took pictures. Well, we found out the lady actually raises them, so she was very helpful and told us a lot about them. The Yorkies were so cute and scruffy and all three of us (mummy, little brother, and I) just fell in love with them.

As I was playing with one, and my mum was holding another, she whispered into my ear--in Finnish of course--," You can just forget about that other breed." And I just thought how funnny!

Later she told me that the Chinese Cresteds she saw at the breed show were not as cute as these Yorkies, and that she has absolutely fallen in love with them!

So now, I will be getting a Yorkshire Terrier for my birthday. Though, I might not get it on my birthday, or anywhere near April/May due to the fact we haven't yet put a deposit down, or even found a breeder.

But we will!

So that is just some happy news for me. And also, I was getting over this dreadful cold then, so it's not like I was having a great day, or even weekend, but that just made it all the more better!

And photographs to come soon. I know  I still need to put up Lena W. clinic photographs. And I will, hopefully tomorrow. =))

Note::All photos found on Google.com

So this previous Saturday we went down to Waxahachie. Which was fun, it was cold, but fun!
I got to have a lesson on Gunner, but now my legs and back are sore. It's mostly my thighs that are extremely sore! Of course, however, I had a fun time riding Gunner like always.

I will write in more clear detail about the above events maybe later. Maybe, or maybe this was enough....?

Well, I need to go take a shower. I need some sleep. I really shouldn't have been on the Mac as long as I was. Maybe I'll do some more homework after my shower.

IDK....

However, goodnight!!! =))

Lena Clinic on Sat 25-10-2008

The Lena Wedenmark clinic was Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; we only went on Saturday with my mum's boss. Surprisingly not, she fell in love with Ms. Lena. Who wouldn't? Everyone that audits her or rides with her falls in love with her. She's so clear, so nice, and thorough -yes, that's different than clear. But that's not what I am here to talk about. I just wanted to talk about Saturday.
At the Lena clinics, I love watching all the horses and riders as they work out their problems and get the clear answer(s). This time was no exception. A lot of the horses are just so gorgeous. Especially this one horse at maybe around 3:15 PM. He was a beautiful 6 yr. old of the Rubinstein lines. He was truly a "world-class horse" as Lena said it. And let me tell you, he was! Just superb movement, energy flow, and great engine in the back. Lovely head/face, nice neck with muscles, and an over all stunning body and confirmation. Ms. Leslee, mum, and I were all talking about how he reminded us of Fritz. We thought that this is an example of what Fritz might be like when he gets out of his "iffy, 3 yr. old stages." I didn't get a chance to write down the horse and riders name, but he was stunning, as well as the rider.
Like always, I loved watching Ms. Catherine ride, the energy of the place, and the park-like setting that the property holds. The weather was perfect, to die for. Complemented all the trees, ponds, and hills that the places holds. Everything is so calm there. I prefer places like Libra Farms (the name of the place) and Ms. Leslee's Caddo Horses rather than Noble or Stargate. On our way out, we were discussing this matter of how everything is calmer and more homey at these kinds of places.
We had a good time, Mishael behaved well for himself, and watching the horses and listening to Ms. Lena was fun as always. We arrived probably around 11 AM and left, I'd like to say, a little after 6 PM. Seems like the time there just flew by.

Klimke and Ahlerich '84 Olympics Dressage Victory Lap

This video amazes me every time I watch it. It's just a big wow that comes out of my mouth, well, if I had my voice right now.

Klimke and Ahlerich '84 Olympics Dressage

Watching him ride is just amazing; both him and his horse are amazing. I can clearly see how he got Gold. It's all so effortless, and light. When doing Piaffe, the horse doesn't travel like so many great riders these days. His canter pirouette is actually on the spot, as well as effortless... Again. He moves on the teeny tiniest circle, and there is so much action, drive, and involvement in the hind quarters. While watching the video clip throughout, watch the horses legs, and see the bend, and the activity.
Watch it, and see if afterwards you can actually say, and mean it, that this looks vigorous, hard, or heavy. When you look at his hands (Klimke's), you can see how how he carries them so lightly, he's not pulling, nor is heavy with them; he was even giving Ahlerich the reins at some points, not pulling them more. If you watch closely at 2:24 to maybe 2:27, you can see him giving some rein during the EXTENDED TROT, yeah, not something you see very often these days. And his trot is actually very fluent, he doesn't break the rhythm, and it's a real extended trot. Not some fast paste medium, rhythm breaking trot. Watch the transition from trot to passage at 3:05, see how clean that was and how there is no hassle? See how he moves with the horse, his body is so relaxed, and his posture is great.
In my opinion, this video shows textbook dressage. It shows how dressage is supposed to be. This is why he won gold and why he was, is, and always will be a legend!

Sir Donnerhal

Sir Donnerhal was a great horse! The Hanoverian breeder my mum rides for has a brood mare who is double Donnerhal. She is very pretty and you can definitely tell she has Donnerhal just by looking at her. She is sweet on ground, but I have heard that they are very thickheaded when under saddle. One of the horses my mum is riding is bred out of that brood mare, and he is gorgeous! He has an attitude, but he is also very brilliant, and has Olympic potential.
