Here They Are, There They Go

So I think it was Wednesday (?) maybe when my mother's aunt - Annaliisa- gave my mother and me some really great clothes that she found in her closet and wanted out. So we pretty much started out the morning trying on St. John, yes! St. John! I really didn't know the brand, I have heard people mention it here and there previously but I didn't know what it was. Annaliisa had mentioned  about St. John when noticing some characters from different TV shows wearing the St. John brand. The thing she always mentioned was the St. John knitted wool wrapped in silk and how that and how they did it was unique. I didn't really understand it really until after that splendid morning (it was more like afternoon). The pieces that she gave us were from the more classic line that prides itself on knitted wool and silk.
My mother got maybe four or five ensembles that were made from that knitted wool, and I got four really nice button-down shirts that are 100% pure silk

Instead of just talking about these wonderful clothing items, why not show you? Yes! I took pictures just to share my happiness with you. I only took photographs of what I got - I want my mother's permission before I go messing with her new clothes.

Note:: Images taken by me!

This first picture of the blouse doesn't really do justice to the blouse's colour, it's more of a teal than a blue.

She also gave both of us really nice long leather coats that didn't fit for her or for her daughter anymore. They are different, but have similar characteristics. They will be perfect for that November winter weather in New York! Burrrr!

Let Them Eat Cake!

I was surfing through YouTube and decided to check out NylonTV and one of the videos I decided to watch was the 'FASHION WEEK SS'09+ABIGAIL LORICK SHOW.' It mostly caught my attention because it had Abigail Lorick's name in it.
Not too far into the video, I decided that I pretty much want EVERYTHING from the shoot-cake, clothes, jewelry/accessories, furniture (HAHA), apartment.

I w a n t it all!

Today my friend told me know that she had just received her NylonMag in the mail ( I hope mine comes soon!) and said that is was filled with all sorts of fun; well, I haven't been able to experience the NylonMag fun, but I sure know that NylonMagazineTV on YouTube is full of fun! You should go check it out ASAP- and that's an order!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was able to eat cake today because my mother, her aunt, and I decided to bake a cake. Mmmmm! It was a Finnish Citrus cake, or Sitruunakakku.
Tosi Hyvää!

note:: all three photos were taken by me!
As you can see, we have already eaten some of the cake, but it still looks good!

ex. oh. ex. oh.

So do you remember on Gossip Girl's first season, when Blair and  Serena took all the clothes from the "Eleanor Waldorf Collection" at the shoot and got in a cab to go to the water fountain at I believe in Central Park (correct me if I am wrong)? I think the episode was 'Bad News Blair'. Now, do you remember the dresses they were wearing? That was the moment I fell in love with that dress.

After I saw that dress, I tried my hardest to find out who the designer was, so that I could find out where I can buy it. And of course, I couldn't find anything. Not too long after that eppy, I got my TeenVOGUE mag, and it was one of those "A to Z" things. I believe L stood for Lorick? I was sooo super happy to find out this news, I immediately Googled Abigail Lorick and found the Lorick Barlass Dress on I believe revolveclothing. However, this dress that I fantasised myself running around in in NYC turned out to be a wee bit out of my budget.

I really just love this scene. Oh, B and S were good too.

More from the Lorick Spring 2008 collection.

I have recently been checking out the recent Lorick Spring 2009 collection, and it is delicious! I love all aspects of it. I love the forest green on some of the pieces, while others brought out the craving of French pastries in me. All of the pieces are really feminine, some having quite preppy touches. I really just love the whole collection and I wish I could buy it. Someday!

Some pieces from the Lorick Spring 2009 collection. Tea time?

You can find pieces from her current collection at Buy Definition online. I'm not sure about the store, but I found her clothes at the website. I found out about the store and website through Sea of Shoes. I'm not sure about other online retailers, but Buy Definition is where I have been checking out her stuff. Here is a whole list of online retailers and stores in your  area.

Midnight Dreaming

So I just got out the shower ooooooh about 20 mins ago. Whoops! Haha.

My intent of coming downstairs was to have a glass of water or orange juice and go back up; well, someone messaged me on FB and so so, that's not the point. The point is, I somehow ended up at style.com and then ended up viewing the Chanel Fall 2006 Couture Collection and oh did I fall in love all over with Chanel!

Some of my picks from

This first caught my eye, and I think next time I go out whether for errands or somewhere "important", I am going to try my best to achieve this look.

But this one has got to be my favorite look! So far, it is, after all, only the 4th look out of 60.

I just really love the red and the jean together.

I really loved those classic Chanel looks with the jean.

Aaaaand the genius behind it all!

I pretty much loved the whole collection, but I guess I couldn't have posted all of the 60 photographs.
No wunder Chanel is my favorite brand in the world! There's this simplistic thing going on with the modern day woman, what's not to love? I do dream of the day that I can buy all the Chanel clothing I want. Hehe

I Am Stuffed

Current 'Model of the Week' Suzie Bird from Paris, France on models.com
photo source::models.com I take no credit for these photographs.

So maybe like at 5:30ish, mum, Mishael, and I left to go out to eat at Red Robin. But!!! We got lost, the directions that mum just wrote down I guess were not that clear. So for like a whole hour (I'm guesstimating) we were driving trying to find out how to get to N. Garland Rd.
Until, I pulled out my fabulous phone, and begged the Telenav to work, and of course it did.
I pulled up to/from addresses and mum then knew how to get there, a different way. I guess my phone only guided her.

Anyhow, the food was yummy like the usual. And I only ate half, because if you have eaten at Red Robin before, you know how big the burgers are. I got the Red Robin Gourmet Cheeseburger, just with a Gardenburger substitution because I don't eat that.

I took my camera with me, but I forgot to take pictures. Mainly because maybe, just maybe I was eating and Mishael, well, was Mishael...

But I used a whole roll of film in the car taking car pictures, I am hoping that they don't turn out ruined. We will see...

So now I am home, comfortable, and drinking tea. Waiting to see the clock go 11:59 to 12:00!
Mum also has a headache, but she decided to stay downstairs and stay up with me as well.
This New Year's will def be a lot better than last year! I just won't even go there...

So... What was I wearing today when I went out.
My grey H&M button down V-neck mini dress, Lulu from Pacsun black long tank top, Paris Blues skinnies, H&M white cropped jacket, cappuccino brown low heel ankle boots, and my Teen Vogue corduroy tote bag.

Currently, however, I am just in the tank top and pajammer pants because I want to be comfortable

wow, that was a long post!

Stuff From House of Holland

Here are a few of my fave shirts from House of Holland; a brand that is regularly seen on English model Agyness Deyn.
